Gwenda Micheals: Clean can mean that the object or area has been washed with soap to have dirt removed.Sanitary denotes sterilization of gems and bacteria in addition.Just because something is clean doesn't necessarily mean that it is sanitary.You would be able to look at something and tell if it is clean, but the naked eye cannot tell if something is sanitary, sterile or germ-free. For sanitization you would need bleach or some other strong chemical or antibacterial. For cleaning all you need is soap and water....Show more
