Freddy Shutler: I think it all depends on your own view about your own culture as compared to the new / foreign culture. If you like by heart your own culture . . . foreign study might be only changing bad values (if any + you wish to improve). Otherwise it might be a total transformation (whether successful or not is another question). Hope you understand what I wanted to say . . . .
Brian Marquina: I would say it is more accurately described as a culture for developed countries. As communities are becoming more globalised; human are more interrelated and complex than ever, the basic education doesn't seem to provide as much value as it used to. Another way to look at higher education is that it is a tool for people to relocate to a (hopefully) better - and usually foreign -place to live. Since most countries do not open their doors to people who just want to move there to work, but welcome foreign students to spend their money for education. Best wishes....Sho! w more
