Is it appropriate to sell craft supplies at craft shows?

Andre Winegar: It really depends on the venue and the promoter. If you are selling quality stuff and there's no restriction on selling supplies, it's a win/win for crafters and visitors to the show. One place you can sell supplies on line that also accepts ONLY hand made crafts is etsy.com. Very fine, very creative crafts.

Ambrose Mumma: Most craft shows would not allow you to do this. Even non-juried shows have rules and they state that all items must be hand made or at least hand assembled. Otherwise, merchants such as yourself would eventually take over all the spaces and leave no where for the true artisan to display their hard work. A flea market or a trade show would be a more appropriate venue for your wares. The people who attend these shows are there to shop for gifts and to get ideas...they know where to go for supplies. The craft store!...Show more

Bob Pucella: Yes - it would be very appropriate.

Veta Slicker: I do not see why you could not... ! I like going to craft shows and some people have things they use for crafts that i look at and say i wonder where they got that lace to make that or something similar to that... why not just have some on hand for people to buy.

Dexter Dicostanzo: I don't know that for sure, but I think most people who sell their crafts feel that what they make is unique, and would rather buy their own supplies.
