global warming!!!!!!!!!?

Hong Hunkin: Oceans are the largest surface area of earth. Their temps. shall have more influence on the overall global temps.

Joan Stavropoulos: An understanding of physics, familiarity with atmospheric CO2 changes, and knowledge of fossil fuel production statistics.

Spencer Heidtbrink: Irrelevant. We are experiencing a collapse of the food chain due to over-population growth.More people, the faster the collapse. When the population goes over 7.7 billion (low) to about 10.0 billion (high), there will catastrophic collapse of the food chain. We need to reduce head count in the entire world. The collapse will be quick. But when it does, it would be quick and very nasty as people start fighting for food and I don't mean 3rd world countries, I mean everyone everywhere.People won't care if it's global warming or not global warming, there will be no food to sustain all of us.When will this tipping point occur? No one knows, but as the population grows, we will hit ! it."Soylent Green may not be just science fiction soon..."How's that for a scary thought......Show more

Marcelle Vanlith: The oceans mainly appear to function as a way to slow global warming, by trapping the heat in the vast quantities of water that we have, and by the ocean currents, which help to rapidly transport that heat energy to areas where it can more efficiently be radiated back into space. As you probably know, there are heating, and cooling cycles, largely dicated by sunspot activity, although currently, we are in a phase of sunspot activity which should correspond to very cold weather, and we've got hotter weather. The belief is that this is either some strange fluke, or that the carbon emissions from fossil fuels which until now had trapped large quantities of greenhouse gasses is causing the warming. Different models show all sorts of possible alarming roles the ocean could play in the process of global warming. The most basic, and obvious issue is that ! coastal areas are the major spots for photosynthetic organisms! . Tidal wetlands, river estuaries, coral reefs, and kelp beds are where a majority of the ocean's oxygen-producing organisms live. Global warming causes the ice caps to melt, which raises sea levels. Changing sea levels make it difficult for the plants which produce photsynthesis to keep doing things the way they always have. Depending on how fast silt deposits in estuaries and deltas, these places can acutally flood over, killing the land-based plants that were working there. Likewise, rising sea levels can eventually block out the light to kelp beds and coral reefs. If this happens gradually, chances are that the plants and other photosynthesizing organisms will just re-colonize areas higher up, but if it happens fast, they may just get killed. Killing off the plants that get rid of CO2 is bound to have an effect on global warming. Changing sea temperatures pose different hazards. A lot of photosynthetic organisms also just float around near the ocean's surface. Since sea! water transfers heat very well, there are vast patches that haven't had a significant change in temperature for centuries. A big enough change could actually burn up all those organisms. Some people have noticed that coral reefs are dying off, and worry that this is the reason. At the bottom of the ocean, the issue is different: It's so cold down there, that methane freezes. Natural gas pockets that were underwater have formed huge beds of frozen methane ice. Methane is a short-lived, but very powerful greenhouse gas. If the temperature gets hot enough in the water, these will start to melt off, and get into the atmosphere, thus raising temperature rapidly. The other issue is the deep ocean currents. These currents are driven by heat, and salt differences, so changes in temperature might affect how they move. These deep ocean currents produce upwellings of nutrient rich waters in coastal regions, so stopping the currents would cut off a huge food supply to the coastal cora! l and kelp bed communities. Changing the currents might also make the o! cean less efficient at transporting the heat energy from the area where the sun is shining to darker, cooler areas, where it can be radiated back into space more efficiently.

Gaynell Pizzaro: I believe in "global warming" - however I do not subscribe to the popular belief that this state is the fault of man.Throughout time there has been temperature changes on Earth - notable the Ice Age....Not just the ice Age but there have been periods when we have had long hot summers, and others when there has seemed to be little change between the seasons. No sign of global warming in many springs when frost has been on the ground until May.From the 19th until the 20th centuries when mills spewed out sulphurous smoke along with millions of households in the UK alone..there was no evidence at that time of global warming - i can only conclude that the present warming of the Earth is no more than as normal cycle....Show more

Pearlie Medora: The water creates moisture in the ai! r, which cool's the earth's climate down. Global warming makes the oceans expand and raises sea levels because of melting ice.

Stanton Degregorio: The oceans have 300 times the heat content of the atmosphere. The atmosphere is at the mercy of the oceans, it's not the other way around.

Caterina Yeargan: I believe we are expeiriencing weather changes in the climate. Not to forget allergy season is coming earlier. Last Snow storm was about up to 2 inches unlike in 2005 there was an amount of almost a foot.

Jorge Gerrero: in case you opt to acquire furnish money for climate analyze, do you think of which you will get a cheque in case you assert," i choose the furnish, as i think of that i will practice that the figures that the present paradigm relies upon are incorrect" ? the great environmentalist, David Bellamy, has been silenced, and refused airtime. there continues to be no shown causative link between the quantity of Co2 in the ambience, and a upward p! ush in international temperatures. Dick Ovdenk: The ocean is the engine that drives our planet’s climate. From the 2nd link below: The ocean has absorbed over 80% of the excess heat produced by the greenhouse effect and roughly half of the carbon dioxide (CO2) we have pumped into th! e sky. Consequently, the ocean has warmed steadily over the last 50 years, especially at the surface. This has led to the melting of polar ice, rising sea level, loss of coastal habitats, coral bleaching, and a likely increase in the intensity of hurricanes. These are but a few of the serious consequences for the ocean. From the 3rd link:Recently it was found that the Southern Ocean, the most important "carbon sink" of all the oceans, has greatly slowed its uptake of carbon dioxide because of climate change. The absorption of heat and carbon dioxide by the oceans is currently slowing the effects of global warming; however, the oceans are becoming overburdened and may not be able to perform this function for much longer. One could write a book about this -- I'm sure someone already has or will -- so will stop here. But check out the links below. Some duplication of information, but the message is the same: the oceans are a major player in what's unfolding.

Elfreda Grossen: Yes,T! he present Global Warming is a reality but its causes are still to be understood.Urbanisation induced terrestrial reflection of radiation or albedo has increased with “Improvement of Quality of Life” and to some extent this is responsible for shifting of weather and climatic patterns. However, it cannot be said with certainty that the present Global Warming is a result of increase of albedo only. The total annual Sun's radiation to earth and total annual evaporation from earth seems to have not changed significantly and similarly total annual precipitation has not changed except local shifting patterns. To me main cause could be short period climatic aberrations or changes within the “Inter-Glacial” period we are living in. The earth’s history is punctuated with such short period climatic imprints within Glacial and inter Glacial periods before “Man” entered this arena.Thnks...Show more

Shandi Wedge: EverythingThey bring warm air to places tha! t are cold, eg EnglandWhen the ice caps melt the release of fresh water in the ocean will stop the currents and stop bringing warm air to places. The world will freeze

Peter Lapoint: & why do you believe this way?

Jacinta Moitoso: When the polar caps melt, that is a good definition of global warming. also the glaciers and ice caps on the mountain tops are melting and volcanoes have become more active. I do not believe it is man made although we humans are not helping the matter in any way. Common sense tells me that the world wide rerouting of major water ways has done more to bring about global warming than anything else we could have done. Of course no country will ever agree.

Filiberto Ranalli: The oceans store massive amounts of heat for hundreds of years. When more solar energy reaches the ocean, as it has for the past few decades, it warms the water and circulates all over the world. In the past few years, solar energy reaching the surface of the oc! ean has declined, but the oceans have already stored much heat and they! take much longer to cool than the atmosphere. They cool by evaporation and that adds water vapor to the atmosphere, which acts like a greenhouse to help slow the heat loss. The next two solar cycles have been forecast to be much weaker than they have been for 200 years, so we can expect the cooling to continue if the forecasts are correct.

Kalyn Proietto: Yes, they certainly can. People can become kinder or less kind; more thoughtful or less thoughtful. They have their destiny and character in their own hands - although the actions of other people can alter the course of their lives.

Sylvie Snetting: Yes, I absolutely believe we are having global warming. Why? Because the OTHER planets in our solar system are warming up also. This is a totally natural cycle of our sun.I do not believe man is causing global warming. I DO believe man is poisoning the heck out of the world. Many of the efforts to stop global warming also help reduce poisons released into our! air, water, and earth....so you might say I'm all for global warming.~GarnetHomesteading/Farming over 20 yearsP.S. The earth is either doing one of two things...warming, or cooling and heading into an ice age. Global warming is actually much friendlier to our environment, than an ice age....Show more

Arnette Dominici: New England should get it's first snow before January. Maybe the sun got bigger or the planets shifted, too. I believe it's too warm and I am not qualified to fix that problem.

Francis Stickle: we really are experiencing global warming.First, the changes in temperature. Temp. drops in countries were it's not supposed to be that cold on certain seasons. It's either too hot or too cold. Then flash floods everywhere. In the US for example, there are states that don't really get flooded, but now they have flash floods alot. Elbert Donatelli: Everything you hear about Global Warming has to be taken with grain of salt. We know so very litt! le about the actual history of weather and climate that anything about global warming can only be theory. Is the Earth warmer than it was 50 years ago, Yes. But it also should be noted that the output of the sun has also increased over that same period. Could that be the reason, very much so. It only take a small change in the sun's output to alter conditions here on Earth. There have been studies done, remotely mind you, and astronomers have noted an increase in temperature on our planetary neighbors, specifically Mars, Venus and Mercury. So we still should be mindful of what we are doing to our planet, but the planet's greatest polluter is still the planet itself....Show more

Ronnie Sardi: they are one of the two key things, the other is the land. Air temperatures mean nothing. We have been using diving temperature records in the ocean and the latest dat says the oceans waters are not warming up. so, this means the whole earth is not warming. Look up the heat c! apacity of the air and its density., then look at water and land. A 1 ! degree change in air temp is equal to a .000001 degree change in water and land. So, yes water means the most.

Luana Carothers: I don’t believe in man-made Global Warming because the advocates of Global Warming have no empirical science to back their claim. And their advocacy movement has been mired in scandal since its beginning. Here are some things you should know:1) The Earth has been both much warmer and much colder in the distant past, long before the industrial age. Climate is indeed changing, but it has always changed and probably always will. These are obviously natural cycles that man does not and cannot control.2) Global Warming alarmist have been caught in one lie after another. Huge scandals have been continuously revealed since the early 1980’s when the campaign began. Some of these are listed below:3) Al Gore’s movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was full of bald faced lies. Like the Polar Bears were drowning, or the Ice Caps were melting, or the ocean! s were rising --- all lies. In fact a court of England ruled the movie was so flawed that it could not be shown to school children without a disclaimer.4) The ClimateGate affair exposed the utter corruption of the Warmist community with their exposed emails speaking of how they intended to “hide the decline” and how to manipulate data and the peer-review process in their favor.5) Then there is the fact that the globe isn’t even warming anymore and the small amount of warming experienced from the 1900’s to 2001 time frame was negligible and well within the envelope of normal.6) During this same period of marginal warming, scientists also noticed that other planets in our solar system were warming. What do these planets have in common ? --- the Sun.7) Phil Jones, former head of the Climatic Research Unit, the Guru and High Priest of Global Warming himself admitted there has been no statistically significant warming. If anyone on the planet would have been aware of sta! tistically significant warming it would have been Phil Jones and he adm! itted there has been none. (Game Over)8) Warmist like Al Gore refuse to engage in any formal debate on the issue. That’s because on the few occasions Warmist have debated openly, they lose, and they lose big . Lord Monckton utterly destroys them time and time again.9) Al Gore and other Warmist have said time and again that they want to make CO2 the object of a global tax. CO2 is the perfect object for a tax for their revenue purposes because you literally cannot live without making CO2. And current science has shown clearly that there is no correlation between the planet’s mean temperature and the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Demonizing CO2 is all about the tax dollars --- and that’s all its about.See the scam for what it is and don’t believe any of it.-------------...Show more
