Why is my TiVo not working?

Lyndon Mattas: What model Tivo do you have?????? You sure didn't give many facts to go on. If you have a series 3 or 4 Tivo, it does have a digital cable tuner (QAM) built into it. However, it they can only receive unencrypted "open" digital channels. Usually cable companies send out local channels that way. For other channels you have to use either a cable box or a "cable card". Most likely you will have to rent a cable card from your cable company. It gets inserted into a slot in the back of the Tivo. Simona Bulwinkle: Seeing as how you can now watch alot of shows on the net if you miss them, to me I also believe it's a waste of money. They may have already done this but they are or were planning on hypocrising the entire point and use of this service by adding small windows that would show advertisements. The entire point of TIVO was to NOT have to watch commercials and now they want to add that, or may have already. To me this technology stinks for that reason alone.
