Frances Macky: Sorry to hear whats happening to you. I do know how you are feeling. You are not alone. Sounds like you are reaching out for help which is very good. Don't try and fight this battle on your own. I will tell you to DOCUMENT all you can concerning what is happening to you. The VA has a phrase in the Title Code 38 that says that people who are "in a postion to KNOW the facts" can give statements & evidence to a VA rating board or adjudicator. This can be Doctors, Therapist, Nurses, Social workers, members of your family, friends, Bosses,etc.. Don't let the AF put you out on regular discharge. If you are having mental & or physical problems then they need to medically discharge you. I would put in for Service- connected disability from the VA for PTSD. Expect an up hill battle with the VA and with the AF. Sorry but you do have to fight them both to get your rights. Google "Title Code 38" and read all of it. This is a start. I f you need more help or just need t! o talk you may email me at "krazyarm65@yahoo.com" & I will send you my phone number. Hope this has helped you trooper. Hang in there and don't let the trukeys get you down. The only easy day was yesterday. A word of warning here, don't use booze or recreational drugs to try and escape what is happening to you. This is like throwing gas on a fire. I learned that lesson the hard way. Don't give up, ever! Thank you for serving. Good luck & Carry on...Show more
Irving Jordahl: You served with honor so don't be embarrassed. Get out and move on. Go to school. Learn a trade. Put the military behind you and get on with your life. You already know those people ( Reserve unit ) do not care about you. Stay with the VA and get a disability. ( See your Service Advisor at the VA and fill out the proper forms) Good luck.
