Luke Gacusan: It depends. If you wanna go swag style, the Charger. If you wanna spend less time at the pump, the Prius, and if you go on drives throught the mountains, the F-150. I like the Charger though. I have a 2012 Civic right now.
Star Gollnick: I'd take the Ford (Supercab) because it could haul anything I need to haul; cargo or people. Get a V6 for tolerable gas mileage. I'd also get a scooter or motorcycle to beat the gas mileage of the Prissy and look better at the same time.
Majorie Chester: The Prius C (the small one) is actually pretty peppy. About acceleration: There are a few things that fool people:1. When reviewers get 0-60 times, they rev the engine and pop the clutch (or the automatic equivalent). The Prius won't let you do this kind of juvenilia, but no one (who has to pay the bills) drives like that anyway so a few seconds to the acceleration times have to be added or subtracted depending upon which way you're doing the math.2. Because ther! e is no shifting in the Prius, you don't get that gear change jerk, which some people equate with engine power.3. Because the engine RPM is not tightly coupled to vehicle speed as it is in an old fashioned car, some people use the sound of the engine RPM to tell when to back off on the accelerator. If you do this in a Prius acceleration will slow down. The Prius won't let the engine over-revv so backing off just slows acceleration. Note that many folks do this unconsciously because it's the way you accelerate in other cars.4. The Prius actually accelerates at highway speeds, unlike many non-sports cars.My 2004 Prius MPG from the logbook. Ronny Dorge: Depends on what you need the vehicle to do. You didn't specify that....................
Coleman Deliberato: These all have different purposes for sure. (+) The Prius is really practical. There's descent space, great mpg, and you may qualify for a huge tax credit and/or get access to your state's carpool lane (no matter how many people are in the car), which can save time on a commute. It's also very, very reliable. You said the small one, but I'm not sure if you meant the regular Prius or the Prius C.(-) The Prius is not known for it's looks, acceleration, or handling.(+) The F-150 can swallow a lot of cargo in the truck bed and tow heavy loads. It also performed well in crash testing.(-) The F-150 only averaged 15 mpg during real world testing. It's reliability is just average. If you're driving mostly around town and don't need to haul large loads, I'd say the F-150 pr! obably isn't the best idea. Due to it's size, you might find yourself frustrated when it comes to parking and maneuvering around.(+) The reworked Charger handles well and is comfortable and spacious. (-) The Charger has only so-so visibility. Real world mpg is only about 21 for the V6, which seems silly, but you do get to 60 mph about 3 seconds faster than you would in a Prius. Would you consider a Camry Hybrid? You'd get great mileage and still have some power under your right foot when you need it to pass etc....Show more
