what are the legal and safety requirements for a car radiator?

Imogene Neiswander: None, aside from general roadworthy or safety requirements.It has to be securely fixed to the frame of the car. It needs to have a safety release mechanism to prevent an explosion in the case of a malfunction.

Bernie Cerra: I would be surprised if there are any rules specifically for a car radiator.If the radiator forms an outside surface of the vehicle, as it does for some old cars and some pretentious current cars, then it has to comply with the general rules of motor vehicle construction and use.
